The Prison of Power

Consider a world where men have been marginalized by the female of the species due to their propensity to violence. They cannot hold political office. They cannot vote. They cannot hold any jobs of authority. As a result, there are no wars. All weapons, whose sole purpose is to kill, are outlawed in the populace. Nuclear weapons have been destroyed. World hunger is non-existent. Medical services are free to everyone. The planet is healing.Over 50 years the females of the species became the dominant gender of those in political office. The women simply changed the rules. It became obvious, even to the males, that the world was becoming a better place. Some rebelled. They reverted to violence against women. The final straw was perpetrated by a cabal of males masquerading as a religious cult. They kidnapped, raped, and killed women under the guise of distorted biblical laws. They were stopped and hunted down by the all-female police force. Two hundred males suspected in the crimes were taken to a makeshift court in a local arena. The males rebelled resulting in a slaughter of the men and many of the police. As a result, the male of the species was considered to be an infected appendix. For the health of the body, it must be excised.This event resulted in new laws that restricted males even more. This is the world in which six characters wend their way.
