The Oath and the Raven

Raven is a young half-elf, gifted with magic that pours through his veins. He yearns to learn how to control as it burns him from inside. Unfortunately, the Kingdom of Valter forbids learning magic outside the Academy in the capital. Plus, only nobles can study there, and those imbued with natural talent are forced to see their gifts burn away, taking many of them with it.The local village festival has finally come. Here, wizards from around the kingdom go and choose someone to become an apprentice. Even though it's only tradition for them to come, Raven feels he'll get selected and be an exception to the rule. While celebrating, he hears a voice promising to teach him the ways of sorcery. Is it one of the wizards coming to the festival or something or someone else entirely? All Raven knows is that the voice is old, ancient, and one that the world hasn't heard in centuries.
