Meeting an elderly spinster in a cozy Yorkshire pub seemed a harmless bit of serendipity for vacationing Scotland Yard Superintendent Perry Trethowan. But what Miss Edith Wing carried about in her large blue leather handbag turned out to be nearly dangerous enough to get them both killed.
