An Imbalance of Shadows

From the moment of her birth, Duchess Julianna Taraen has been blessed thrice by seven, seventh by thrice. During the celebration of her twenty-first birthday, Julianna calls upon that blessing in her moment of greatest need, and in doing so, she frees Grandfather Shadow, an ancient god of vengeance, from his thousand-year prison. In gratitude for his freedom, Grandfather Shadow names Juliannahis high priest, not caring for the mortal politics that have made it a crime for Julianna's people to worship any of the ancient greater gods, a crime punishable by the destruction of her soul. Grandfather Shadow sends her for with the command to unite his scattered followers and lead his people to greatness once again. Julianna must learn to use the gifts Grandfather Shadow has granted her, avoid followers of the God of Death and Inquisitors of the Kingdom of the Sun, and come to terms with her new place in the world. When a god of vengeance gives you a command, it's usually not a wise choice to decline.
