Valley of the Damned

This historical novel set in the north west of Queensland Australia in the 19th Century tells the story of a cattle grazier or rancher who, ignoring warnings from the local Aboriginal witchdoctor not to build the homestead on sacred tibal land. The resulting powerful curse affects all who live there with mysterious results and continues through to the late 20th century. The original rancher's grandson, John Conway, who inherits the 200 square mile property arrives from California to inspect the 200 square mile cattle property prior to selling it. He is not only unprepared for the lures of a seductive and pretty girl but also the legacy of the 100 year-old witchdoctor's curse.
