About This Book
Spiritual life as it is meant to beAs you discovered in book one, the new Truth & Beauty Gallery is wonderful—it does indeed bring the Presence of the Lord into the Historic District of Taos. But if you think that's all there is, you better catch a seat and hang on. This is spiritual life in the Kingdom of God—and His definition of life goes far beyond what's seen these days. The Windrushs and Chibittys think everything is under control. The gallery's complete and they can simply supervise its growth and expansion. True! But do they have any idea what the Creator will do when He's given a chance? The power of faith and obedience is far beyond what is seen in the America of the 21st century.Who would've thought the troublemakers are the 77-year-old woodworker and his wife? Actually, you should have figured this out in the first book. But this all goes far beyond what they had imagined also. The Lord has some severely damaged creative types who He plans to redeem and recreate. He brings them in from all over. He gets them born from God, intensely mentored, and then sets them to work. But see what happens when they believe what they're told, trust in the One who is able, and step out in faith and obedience—with some fear and trembling. It's really fun and edifying. It's a ride like you secretly hoped was going to happen when you met Jesus. That's what should have happened, but like me, you didn't believe enough. The Truth & Beauty series continues This new series takes the believing contemporary series of Ascended Light and turns it toward a larger presence in the world. What would happen if the Lord tarried? Peace in Taos seemed to continue the original series, but here we follow on with what happens within the town as the new gallery grows and thrives.A strange thing has happened to me while writing the story. As I have watched with joy how the Holy Spirit has made it real, I've found myself remembering how I was when the Lord touched me and transformed my life back in 1974. I was a new creation and I'm still working that out, but my expectations were through the roof. I had huge hopes and big expectations. Now I find that the Lord gave me what I had seen, the only limitation was me. I was so damaged that the growth into my hopes took much longer than I thought it would. What would have happened if I had simply believed and obeyed without fear? It actually would have looked a lot like this book. It has struck me, again, what the Lord gives to those who simply believe, trust, and obey. This story is all about realizing what my hopes were and are. They only seem outrageous in a non-believing world where the reality of our Lord and God is rejected. My hope is that you can experience the joy of watching the Lord transform everything in your life. I was struck with joy last night in church, reading in second Peter about how we'll watch with our husband as the Lord gives the command and all of physical reality dissolves in fire to be recreated in perfection again, populated by a people trained by trial, made righteous by faith and holiness. What a day that will be. I'll see you there!
