When Rose's nightmares begin to mirror real events, she realises the connection runs deeper. In Silicat, a neighbouring kingdom has declared war, hiring a ruthless band of mercenaries known as The Thorns to seize the Sceptre of Creation, and to capture her.

As battle tears the two worlds apart, Rose must trust an unlikely ally and fight for both realities: the world of her imagination and the emotional truth her father refuses to let die.
