With Ryan's father crowned king, the war between the dragons and Argrisia comes to an end. In fact, King Godrick insists upon an alliance with the dragons. A treaty is drawn up but the king wants to extend the coalition even further. Safire and her companions are sent as ambassadors to parley with the elven queen.
During their journey, they rescue an amarok named Dex who joins their party and find out Macy's elven parent is the very queen they are going to see. They also encounter a magical being who introduces himself as Magnus. He reveals an ancient necromancer named Rangel intends to re-forge the Ikern swords from the nine shards separated ten thousand years ago.
The companions must reach the shards before the necromancer or else...
