The Feeding Frenzy

Esper was known for her uncanny ability to almost read minds so that other pupils of Miss Plazenby's Extremely Exclusive Seminary for Girls were more than a little wary of her. However it was not only the human mind she sometimes found herself entangled with as she experienced the joys of flight, the ability to control flocks and of course the feeding frenzy. Parallel behaviour with birds among the people around her became a source of fascination for Esper, especially when she discovered she could influence crowds for good or ill. Matters have a way of getting out of hand though for like birds, humans are also known to indulge in feeding frenzies of sorts, especially when they inextricably mistake harmless Vetta Mindal for a legendary cat burglar and pester her mercilessly, until someone steps in who recognises the danger Esper has unwittingly unleashed.
