About This Book

Working with the Hibbard Pond Sportsman organization in the Up North part of Michigan, Dugal McBruce discovers the skeleton of a young girl that has been buried in an earthen work dam for ten years. Nathanial Jefferson, Acting Alcona County Sheriff and former high school teammate of Dugal's, heads the investigation which quickly stalls as forensics are of no help in identifying the skeletal remains of the girl in the perch pond dam – there is no DNA match and no young girls have gone missing in the area in the past ten years. Intrigued by the mystery, Dugal searches the website of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) but finds that to be of no initial aid. The discovery of a body of a second young girl buried only six months in a shallow grave may provide a clue to a possible kidnapper. But can Nathanial and Dugal piece together evidence in time to save a third kidnapped victim whose presence in the area is also completely unknown?
