It was in May, 1902 that the life of Julia Moriarty, the evil sister of Professor James Moriarty, was finally snuffed out. After the demise of her brother at the Reichenbach Falls, she had tirelessly sought revenge on Sherlock Holmes. Resurrecting her brother’s criminal network, she became the one opponent who seemed worthy to challenge the intellect of Holmes. Equally as intelligent as her brother, although, perhaps, lacking his finesse and menace, Julia Moriarty reigned for eight years. Throughout that time, she was driven by a single thought, to destroy Holmes, the man she blamed for her beloved brother’s death. These seven stories, taken from the metal despatch box of Dr. John H. Watson, detail how, during the period 1894 to 1902, Moriarty and Holmes’ paths crossed with increasing vehemence. In the final two stories, The Mazlov Knot (previously unpublished) and The Broken Watch of Meiringen, both Moriarty and Holmes are but a hair trigger away from destruction by the hand of the other. However, there can be but one outcome… but at what cost?
