Rise of the Starborn

BIRTH OF A DAMNATION Following a disastrous mission, the Wanderer spends five years as a total amnesiac. When she finally reports to Agency headquarters, she finds that her trusted contact Grimsdyke is unaccountably missing from his office - and that she's now classed as an enemy agent. Worse, the duplicitous Agency has learned all of her well-hidden weaknesses, and uses them to subdue and interrogate her. Has someone been telling her secrets? Was it Grimsdyke? During those five years, the Agency has secretly bioengineered a new species called the Starborn to fight the Night Spawn. The powers of darkness use the Starborns' appearance in human society to whip up worldwide demand for the gene-altering drug used in the new breed's creation. Unfortunately, there is a terrible and unforeseen side-effect to the drug's uncontrolled use - a side-effect that fits perfectly into the hellish plans of the Night Spawn. Complicating matters, the Wanderer has not yet regained her full memory. Without knowledge of her full powers, how can she possibly stem the worldwide apocalypse pitting humanity against its successors - both the ethereal Starborn and the hell-spawned monstrosities arising all over the earth?
