In the aftermath of her victory over the dark god Morok, Claire Emerson is ready for some well-earned peace and quiet. But tranquility evaporates when an ancient god arrives on her doorstep demanding sanctuary.

The god blames Claire's battle with Morok for the destruction of his world—and more gods follow in his wake, bringing chaos with them and turning Claire's entire world upside down. Again. To make matters worse, she discovers that Morok survived their battle and is bent on revenge.

Now, with her magick spread increasingly thin as she tries to keep a bunch of unruly deities in line and find a way to return them to the Otherworld, Claire is thrown again into a war she thought she'd already won.
