Pools of Unheard Tears

When animals go missing on a holiday island, that is located two miles off the south coast of England, nobody takes any notice. However, when chidren begin to disappear that is another thing. This is when the case is is given to Detective Inspector Dave Geraint. He has the unenviable job of trying to solve these disappearances and locate where the animals and all of the missing children have all gone to In every case where there is a disappearance, there are no clues left to help him solve the mystery . It is not until some police officers who are part of a search party that are looking for some of the missing children, themselves disappear right in front of their colleagues. Is any possible connection made with all of the disappearances. It will take the combined effort of the police, armed forces and some laboratory technicians to come up with some sort of an answer. Eventually the identity of the culprit along with the hiding place is known to the authorities. However, this would prove to be only the beginning. How to stop anymore loss of life occuring would be the DI's main priority but how to achieve this was now the main question in hand?
