It's been said that you can't go home again. Except that before she had left Hamilton years earlier she had been called Madge Smith and had worked as a maid. The mystery surrounding Conova only deepens when her body is found hanging from a bridge on a frigid night. Special Investigator James Dundee finds himself with plenty of unanswered questions. What had driven her to suicide? Was it really murder and not suicide? And was the dead woman really the Madge Smith that had left Hamilton under a cloud?
