Midnight Choir

Seattle, 1907: "the wickedest city in America." When an idealistic nurse tries to help a glamorous prostitute with friends in too many places, she soon becomes witness to the murder of a vice lord. Dragged into the middle of a gang war for control of the city's notorious red-light district, she reluctantly finds herself falling for a handsome but corrupt Irish detective who thinks he can get away with murder — and he's done it often enough to know. This time, though, her evidence may hang him. If only she can bring herself to give it before someone kills her first.
