Evelyn McClane is one of Hawthorne City's newest rookie officers. Five years after the supernatural world collided with the mundane, things are finally getting back to normal. With new laws and regulations in place to help govern the masses, the police department has begun pairing human officers with supernatural ones in an attempt to stem the flow of distrust pouring in from the public.Evelyn's partner is Navi—a man she's expected to trust with her life, when he won't even trust her with the secret of what makes him different. The two of them are plunged headfirst into a world of magic and fear when a routine investigation into a young woman's death brings them face to face with the most powerful witch in the city.Evelyn immerses herself into the supernatural world, soon realizing that things are not as they seem. She and Navi uncover a terrible operation involving magical artifacts and immortality, including helpless creatures abducted for nefarious purposes. It's up to Evelyn and Navi to put a stop to it all. As she learns the ropes from her partner, she finds the courage to take on the supernatural world one case at a time.
