Bill Rosen returns as the Hanford Patrol investigator charged with solving this mystery. Complicating all of this is the remains unearthed may be from ancient Native Americans who lived in the area. The young woman archaeologist called on help determine if the remains found are from the distant or more recent past may have her own agenda. What is discovered is evidence of a past crime and possibly the killer who committed them.
