To an intelligent wildcat like Sinstari, most bipeds are loud, overcomplicated creatures, who don't bathe nearly often enough. Despite these faults, he has chosen Barlo as his companion. Barlo is decent enough--for a dwarf, at least--but communication with him can be a challenge even at the best of times. Now death stalks the halls of Dwarvenhome, and getting Barlo to understand him is only the first of Sinstari's problems. This 12,700 word fantasy novelette adventure takes place between the prologue and first chapter of Storm Rider, from the World of Lasniniar Series.
