Joni Warren has skills few other 17-year-olds have: she can cast simple spells, heal minor injuries and see (somewhat) into the future.
When Joni checks the enchanted lake for answers about the fate of her friend’s latest boyfriend, the move proves disastrous - he’s a fighter from another realm!
His arrival in town brings dimensional battle mages looking for powerful mystic artifacts. At first her only issue was just passing her high school classes; training with spirit weapons called Remnants and learning how to protect her friends from deadly sorcerers was not in Joni's study plan!
With her future in jeopardy, Joni uses her supernatural powers at her command and risks her own life, plus the lives of her friends, to find the answers she needs to survive... or will she have to pay a terrible cost to use such evil magic?
