How does an assassin become the hero? By being hired to kill the villains. Kenji has no idea how fortunate he has been to have acquired Vincent’s services, until he begins to see the rapidly diminishing Demon population in his homeland. Yet assassinating every Demonlord in an island nation is no easy task. Vincent must navigate through elaborate mazes, inventive traps, and unforgiving terrain just to reach his targets, not to mention the hordes of lesser Demons that stand in his way. When it comes to murdering a mark, however, no challenge is too great… While the dance of death comes as naturally to him as breathing, Vincent struggles to learn how to live with the living. In life and death, he keeps his interactions quiet, succinct and to the point â€" though sometimes blunt and/or edgy as well. At first reluctant to form relationships, he eventually discovers the best way to find friendship is to fight for it â€" or to feed it, if the friend happens to be a horse. And thus the Shadow of Death finds some comfort in the light… But will his natural inclination toward killing ultimately beckon Vincent back to the darkness?
