Existing before recorded history and rooted in an ancient cult, a practice has been passed down through the generations based on a force known as the Black. Mastery of this force grants its followers a mental window into the minds of others. While all people possess the ability to command this force to some extent, one person in each generation has an extraordinary ability. This is the story of three people whose lives are interwoven with the Black and each other, as they struggle to find an end to their loneliness, and gain control over their destinies.
