Tracking Ginger

Manos returned home from Vietnam an unlucky man. He came back with a Purple Heart, then discovered his girl had moved on while he was gone. He didn't have a job. For two years he drank too much. After that he settled in the woods of Pennsylvania with only a dog for company. Then his dog was stolen. She was a Rhodesian Ridgeback and her name was "Ginger." This was a turning point for Manos. He came out of the woods with a vengeance, and with all his jungle skills intact. He tracked Ginger through a dognapping ring in two states, meeting lots of people along the way. None of them were glad to see him--except the last one. Her name was "Greta." She was a nurse at a research clinic in Ohio, and she helped him to find Ginger. Then she helped him to find himself. So this is not a dog story, exactly. It is a story of revenge. But it is also a story of love, and of redemption.
