About This Book

After two young architects, Jack Hedson and Sue Kyle meet and wed; their careers progress and flourish, ultimately resulting in their own firm in a medium-size city in the southern Appalachians, Jeffersonville, home to Jeffersonville State University.

There is a construction site accident, and Jack is killed. Sue believes it is not an accident. Her attempts, assisted by the Police, to prove that Jack was murdered, and to identify the killer and bring him to justice is fraught with obstacles, doubts by the Police and her frustrations.

Was it murder?

To their credit, the Police pursue several leads in their pursuit of the killer. Unexpectedly it becomes clear Sue is in danger, and forces her to a fearful confrontation. Simultaneously, Sue makes her way through her life, challenged by not only Jack's death, but also by the death from cancer of her best friend, a collapsed economy and unwanted romantic attentions she receives after Jack's death.
