They Fought the Rain

The rain had been coming down for weeks. On the news they told us, it is the same all over the world. Ten families in California decided to do something to save themselves. They welded together ten empty containers. When the work was done, and the ten families had brought enough food that didn't need to be cooked. The water had risen enough to float the containers out to the sea. Before entering the Pacific, they heard many awful screams from drowning people. After many months, they floated in an easterly direction. One day, the containers hit the ground. Our ten families were high up on the Rocky Mountains. Now on dry land, all they needed to do was to survive.
