The Wizard of Berner's Abbey

John Richmond, medical student, has traveled to the imposing edifice that is Berner's Abbey, in the hope of seeing the woman he loves, Leonora. She is now married to the mysterious dabbler in dubious science, Paul St. Arnaud, and Richmond is worried about St. Arnaud's influence over Leonora, concerns echoed by the townsfolk. It doesn't take long for some distinctly worrying details to come to light, not only regarding Leonora and the strange activities of her husband, but concerning several deaths in the area.
