      Willie Winslow is a small time crook in the Big Apple.  When he gives the head of one of NY gangs a bum tip on a race horse his troubles begin.  The gangster wants Willie to repay the five thousand dollars he lost on the bet.  One bad turn leads to another and before long Willie is wanted by the police for murder, stealing an expensive diamond bracelet, dognapping, passing counterfeit money, and the assassination of an informant in protective custody.  This all takes place in the 1940's, but the fun is ageless.
