The Swordsman's Saga

Reesia, the young and beautiful Empress of Morded, tirelessly devoted to her children, and dedicated to the nation she rules, lives a lonely and loveless life. She seeks out and is reunited with Keyenne Altru, a man from her past who emerges from his own darkness to aid her and in the process they fall deeply in love. Despite numerous attempts to take her away from the emptiness of her world Reesia refuses to leave, choosing to lead a quiet life of desperation so that her children might one day come to rule the Empire. And so, instead, she offers him a challenge, a quest which if fulfilled would give him what he longs for but in turn would forever darken his soul. The same challenge is offered to Keyenne by the mysterious Nyanne, herself positioned uniquely within the empire and herself longing for the reward of upheaval and chaos that completion of the quest would bring about. Keyenne, alone and wracked with indecision finds that noble and kind acts alone are not enough to win his tormented heart's one desire.
