About This Book

THE WORLD IS AT WAR.

But the squabbles of men, however bloody, pale beside the true danger facing the world. For Kahldris, the demon that created the Devil's Armor and whose evil spirit has inhabited its horned black carapace for millennia, has finally claimed a victim. From its lair in the deepest cellars of the mountain fortress of Grimhold, it has lured and seduced a good but troubled man. Aging, one-armed, haunted by his betrayal of his country, Baron Thorin Class is no longer the confident warrior he once was.

Sheathed in the armor Thorin feels superhuman -- strong, young, invincible, whole. But the armor craves blood, and Thorin is helpless to deny it. The first time he kills against his will, the true demonic nature of this oil creation is revealed as blood and gore animate the Devil's Armor, causing it to glow and swirl with macabre faces and bodies, flowing, moving...strengthening, rejoicing. And Morin, though horrified, is nonetheless ensorcelled by the armor's dark, intoxicating power--as hopelessly trapped as an insect in dark amber.

There is but one thing in the world that can defeat Kahldris and his terrible creation--another ancient artifact known as the Sword of Angels. But this magical Weapon has been lost for centuries. Even Kahldris does not know its location. But a voice from beyond the grave has told Lukien, the protector of Grimhold, that the sword lies far to the south in the Kingdom of Serpents. And Lukien must find this weapon or see his world dissolve in terror beyond description as the Devil's Armor ravages kingdom alter kingdom, wielded by a psychotic spirit bent on ancient revenge!
