I was told this story while waiting for the tide to turn. Chris Carraway was taking time out, like the rest of us, but he had an extra reason to be there. Just as the financial crisis was taking hold, he had been asked to track down one of the greatest and most influential investors of our time. Never in history have men so hidden from public view exerted such an influence over all of us. It took Carraway some time to find him, within a financial world that was in the process of collapse.
