About This Book

Three friends discover a very strange shape in the clouds hanging above their neighborhood. By the time they realize it’s not going away--in fact, it seems to be growing--it’s too late; the words of fate have already begun to ring in their ears. The friends begin to hear a prophecy repeating itself over and over in their heads and, while the words are normally meant to instill hope in the faithful, for Anthony, Iren and Francis, the coming of the Son of Man can only mean their doom.

This story is backed with the short stories “Bob’s Leg” and “Inside”. In the first story, two fast food workers wonder how their manager wound up with a prosthetic leg, but neither have the guts to ask. When they finally do, the answer comes with the cryptic warning, “Never go to Enlil.” In “Inside”, Michael has just moved into a new apartment overlooking downtown Angel Hill, Missouri. When he cuts himself , he begins to inspect the wound only to discover it doesn’t hurt, isn’t bleeding . . . and that his insides look much different than he’d expected.

“Son of Man” is a 3-story collection offering the kind of surreal landscapes and situations that dominate Moore’s first short story collection TERRIBLE THRILLS.
