The Serial Lover

When literacy tutor Annie March receives a surprise phone call from Georgina Lake, an Emmy-winning soap star who was once her closest friend, she agrees to attend Georgina's engagement party that night. But within an hour of arriving at the elegant, star-studded house party, she discovers Georgina's fiancé's bullet-torn corpse in the deserted downstairs den. Annie's live-in lover, Homicide Detective Eddie Lincoln, rushes to the scene and takes charge of the investigation, insisting that Annie go home and leave the detective work to him. But when Homicide higher-ups jump to the conclusion that Georgina murdered her unfaithful fiancé herself, Annie goes undercover to prove her old friend's innocence. With the help of her comical reading student, Philly Tripp, and the dubious protection of various wigs and disguises, Annie searches to find the real killer before the real killer finds her.
