The Selandra Chronicles Book One

Selandra is an average orphan, her parents disappeared when she was two, and she's been living in an orphanage ever since, with her pet cat, Nim. Her world is turned upside-down one day when she receives a letter saying she's been accepted to the mysterious Alsontones Academy. The orphanage, not being able to wait for her departure, willingly give her up to an unknown world where her mom is a ghost, her classmate is a dragon, and her cat can talk. Oh, and she's a wizard. Soon Selandra finds herself caught in the middle of a plan to kidnap a student at Alsontones. That student being her. While trying to rescue her best friend, she discovers that horrible half magic, half vampire creatures named transpyres are planning to destroy Alsontones and everyone in it. With the help of her newfound friend, and a mysterious amulet, will Selandra be able to stop them, or will the wizarding world never be the same.
