The seventh installment in Daphne Ashling Purpus's magical series, this story takes place in Draconia—one of four nations where humans and magical creatures are connected telepathically.
When a seer named Bertha—who happens to be a bear—has a premonition that the Draconian storehouse of knowledge—which she has been charged to protect and which is practically unknown to the outside world—is in danger, she quickly tries to find the source of the threat before disaster can strike. The urgency of her mission increases when her two cubs are kidnapped and drugged so that Bertha cannot reach them telepathically.
Meanwhile, in the nearby town of Havenshold, an unsavory businessman named George is trying to put all the other local establishments out of business. He also begins asking questions about a secret store of knowledge that the dragon riders are hiding—which is worrisome to those few who know about the storehouse of knowledge, forcing them to wonder where George heard about the secret place.
Tensions run high in this fantasy adventure story as our heroes try to protect the storehouse of knowledge, find Bertha's cubs, and protect their way of life.
