Meet the Murpels, denizens of the magical underwater Kingdom of Murk where our story HurPal the Purple Murpel takes place. It is a story of magic, music, family, friendship and hope. It deals with racism and what can happen when a world lives in total fear. These Murpels have lost their way and are too afraid to look up, let alone swim; and like their parents and grand parents before them have been living in fear for so long that they are content to wear heavy boots and just drag through the sand. They have lost all of their magic.There is no music, art or fun of any kind and any new thoughts are soon flushed away by the lessons at the Center. As a new threat approaches can HurPal the Purple Murpel, even though he was born this strange color, discover the truth in time to save his society and restore their magic before its too late.
