The Return to Umbria

A wealthy Spaniard lies dead in the botanical garden in Urbino, his rare antique drawing stolen, and in place of a museum ceremony those gathered at the scene are police detectives. Instead of enjoying a weekend visit from Rome, Rick Montoya, half-Italian/half-American, interprets to assist police interviewing suspects. His girlfriend, Bette, an art cop, is quickly on the trail of the missing art.For readers, Ricks efforts solving the mystery are balanced by the scenery, culture, cuisine, and wine. Maybe its seeing him, a translator by profession, in well-worn cowboy boots that makes the locals underestimate him till its too late.
