About This Book

Two desperate lovers resurrect the identities of someone else to escape the relentless criminals pursuing them. The woman, fleeing an angry drug-lord, takes on a new name and disappears into a First Nations reserve near Port Huntington, a tourist town on the shores of Georgian Bay. The man, a hitchhiker on the run, encounters a dying man on a lonely, northern highway and steals his identity. Desperate to escape their past, these two resurrected lovers find their pursuers still hot on their trail. Unable to flee, they turn to Maggie Keiller and Derek Sloan for help. When a series of murders in Port Huntington soon follows, Maggie and Derek are drawn into the ensuing police investigation, which quickly unmasks a large drug-smuggling ring and money-laundering operation. At the same time, Maggie is working with the authorities to rescue a young girl who is being sexually assaulted in her home by one of the drug ringleaders. As the threads of these events weave together, Maggie and Derek find they, themselves, are in mortal danger from the criminals they are attempting to bring to justice.
