The Rain

The children were disappearing in the small town of New Bern, North Carolina, and its surrounding counties. To make matters worse, a total lack of rain was causing one of the most severe droughts in years. For a select few, though, the drought was a mere inconvenience. It had indeed continued to rain on their farms, enriching their lands, enabling their crops to prosper. Nine-year-old Trent knew he loved the rain. What he didn't know were the dark and sinister happenings that were about to befall him at his new foster home - happenings that would land him in the middle of a nightmare from which he may never escape...
