The Promise

The promise waits, as the keeper searches blindly in stars to seek the signs. . . And as those words were spoken, a dark tower formed from the stones and sea, rising high above the Kingdom of Tessera. The Wizard, Malthrom gazed from the living shrine, keeping an unseen vigil as the city below slipped deeper and deeper into doom. The years passed and Malthrom called often to the watchful sky until, finally, his appeals for mercy are granted and the havens took pity upon the people below. The earth and sea agreed that the time had come to bring forth a new voice and soon a strangling prince is born into Tessera. Burned upon the brow of the infant was the mark of the Star Bearer and as young Tristus grows, he finds himself an unwelcome messenger of the ancient prophecy.
