The summer tourist season is in full swing when retired stage actress Rina Martin finds herself embroiled in a murder investigation. A man is found shot execution-style on his yacht in Frantham Harbor, and everyone's got a theory about who killed the wealthy computer games designer. Rina's eccentric group of boarders is no exception, and before long detective inspector Mac McGregor is swamped with people eager to lend a hand.

Mac soon discovers the victim, Paul de Freitas, had designed a top secret computer program, which someone is desperate to acquire. To find the software, Mac and Rina follow a series of clues linked to de Freitas's newest video game, but a hidden enemy is watching their every move…determined to make sure this game has deadly consequences.
