The Perfect Contradiction of Sister Markis

Markis never intended to be a nun. He was an assassin, hiding in a uniform. He kept quiet in church while his partner and his captain made it safe for him to return to work. Suddenly, he's snatched out of the church by contradiction-loving pagans. When they drag him to the jungle he finds his captain is his enemy, his partner may be dead, his partner's son hangs in a temple pit, and sacrifices are made to genetic godlings. Thrown to lions and spiders and snakes with a group of people who cannot help him, Markis scrambles to survive.
