The Orphan

When Inspector Sams is called in on a suspected case of arson and abuse, he is soon wrapped in a case far beyond anything he’s encountered before in his twenty years on the force. A young girl has been rescued by the fire department, and they say she was found chained to the cot down in the basement of the house when they arrived on site. It was like a scene from some horror movie they told him. Her parents both claim she’s a demon and must be destroyed; never allow her to gain her strength they say. The Captain at work now says she’s Sams problem, until everything about this case gets wrapped up. He’s just the man for the job; especially since the judge handling the case has vanished. The girl… well, it seems she agrees with the ones thought to be her parents... all of it. There’s a Sumerian demon that’s been freed, and she’s just been dumped in Sam's lap.
