About This Book
In our present day society, there is a secret, government-run organization called the "Testers" that has been around since the United States of America formed. They look for traits in different mythological creatures that they call "Mycreas". Jamie (or as her best friend calls her, Mira) helps feed the Testers information on where the Mycreas are hiding, but only against her will. Despite this, she likes the Mycreas and thinks the Testers are treating them unfairly, as many of them are killed when taken into the labs. But Mira's entire world changes when the new kid, Daniel, sparks an interest in her from minute one. Within the day they met, they are on the road to being more than friends. On that same day, both are captured and taken to the labs, where Daniel is set free, but Mira has to stay, right after she finds out that his father is Neil Kaplan, the current president of the Testers. Now, Daniel has to bust her out, since she's suspected of being a Mycrea, but can't let his father (or anyone else, for that matter) know what he's up to. There's just one tiny flaw that Daniel has yet to know: Mira is a vampire and she could be forced to stay there forever, regardless of what Daniel does to get her out.
