About This Book

Meet Ayaan Alwan, a young Somali-American Muslim woman living in Volmar City, New Jersey. At first glance, Ayaan leads a mundane life. She's in her second year at Cadmus University, treasures her little dog Harriet and aspires to become a police officer just like her father, New Jersey State policeman Hamoud Alwan. Life isn't easy for American Muslims working in Law Enforcement. Ayaan has always been exceptionally strong and durable, but dismissed it as simply the result of good African genes. The young woman's existence is fraught with secrecy for many reasons. Balancing her Muslim identity, her Somali heritage and her bisexuality can certainly take their toll on Ayaan. Ayaan's girlfriend, feisty Haitian diva Marjorie Jean-Baptiste can be a handful at times. There's also Alan Dorian, a handsome and masculine, openly bisexual African American guy whom Ayaan has the hots for. Personal matters must take a backseat to more urgent issues as game-changing events occur. A crime wave hits Volmar City and Federal Law Enforcement steps in. Fed up with the system, Ayaan dons a mask and bulletproof costume, and goes out to fight crime as the Midnight Huntress. Is the world ready for the first openly bisexual, Somali-American Muslim female superhero ?
