The Man Who Changed His Name

One nosy ex-wife. One dead lady who advertised for murder. Both were giving Inspector Charlie Salter the pre-Christmas blues. The rape/strangulation case of Nancy Crowell had reached a dead end months ago. And nobody was pushing to open a new avenue of investigation until a familiar but forgotten face popped into Salter's office - his ex-wife, Gerry. A friend of the late Ms. Crowell, Gerry wasn't above putting pressure, both political and emotional, on Salter to find the murderer. So Salter was soon knee-deep in a messy situation: explaining to his current wife why he was seeing his ex-wife again, and probing into the very intimate life of a lady who placed a personal ad for a lover, and found a killer instead.
