About This Book

Dirshan—the central character and voice in this novel—was my literary first child. I've written a lot of novels since that first effort over forty years ago; but his adventures in the first four books have recently garnered a lot of interest. So much so that I was prompted to write him into a new one, one that continues his life as he became Emperor of Alithar and then evolves into the living force of chaos as the Tilter of Worldes. The setting is some fifty cycles (or years) after the first four novels, and has Dirshan again wandering the Worlde. He finds that he has become the focus of chaos, the central agent of change, but doomed himself never to be affected by them. And he is being pursued—both for things he has done and what he might do. I'm still getting fan mail about the early Dirshan novels
