The Leaves

Left at birth to die beneath the rotting vegetation in the belly of the Amazon rainforest, it proposed a problem when the boy was discovered some twenty years later studying advanced chemistry at the University of Southern California. He hadn't just survived against impossible odds; he had grown into a charismatic, well spoken, educated man. His prosperity, however, came at price; a price he was willing to accept in exchange for a better life. But there were those who couldn't risk him uncovering the truth about his childhood. If they had only taken the time to learn more about the man they now hunted, they would have realized the true risk was interfering with his life.
