The Lady and the Housekeeper

A mysterious murder in a locked Library, a missing, presumed-dead government agent and the attempted theft of Top Secret documents brings many unanswered questions to Lady Harriet Montgomery on cold October morning in Nineteen Forty-Three. Seeking help from her former Governess and Housekeeper (Edith Manning) Harriet discovers that along with her missing Fiancè Clifford, she too is missing, and strangely connected ro the events as they slowly unfold around them. With the help of her Partner's old school chum Richard Dashford, Harriet embarks on a mission to unravel the truth when new evidence is unearthed - leading to the possibility that her Clifford is still alive. Harriet and Richard travel across Europe to Venice in the midst of the Second World War, eventually bound for Egypt. What begins as a mere investigation of the disappearances turns into the adventure of a lifetime, with potentially dire consequences for the rest of the world and the outcome of the war...
