About This Book

Synopsis
The Jihad Access by Joe Zang
This is a fictional novel which falls under the Suspense / Terrorism theme and is a nail-biting thriller. It is nicely melded with facts and with events that occurred in the past; and it tells of the possibility of one particular geographical access terrorists could use to bring weapons of mass destruction into the United States.
The storyline spans from 1985 to 2002 and tells of how sleeper terrorists could very well be established within the United States. The reader is taken from Saudi Arabia, to Iraq, to the United States; where most of the action takes place in Louisiana, Maryland, and Florida.
Many years after the sleeper terrorist immigrates to American and becomes a citizen, he moves into action to smuggle weapons of mass destruction into the country about the same time as 9/11 in association with another planned catastrophe. The efforts of a New Orleans policeman, along with his son (a Coast Guard officer), in collaboration with friends & other Coast Guardsmen in Maryland & Florida inadvertently develop a heads-on collision with the awakened terrorist and his cohorts.
A great deal of research was conducted on how the duties of the US Coast Guard have become so important since 9/11. The following venues are used:
Ocean City Maryland's annual White Marlin tournament
The Mardi Gras Festival in the French Quarter
Hurricane Danny in the Gulf of Mexico
A US Coast Guard wedding
The Super Bowl
Gulf Coast Regattas
