After surviving an abduction, Adair's life is just returning to normal when he meets Rebecca, a mysterious woman, whose business is to spy on men in power and sell their secrets to the highest bidder. As a consequence of this acquaintance, Adair's friend Marcus encourages him to come to terms with the FBI at last and work as a consultant for them, using his skills as a human polygraph and mind reader in order to help them solve difficult cases. There, he meets Shayne, who shares a strange story about a man in a silver mask who tried to force him to carry out a hit. The case becomes more and more complicated-and personal to Adair. At some point, he starts his own investigation, which might become dangerous... "The Ivory Tower" is Vol. 2 of "The Truth Formula," but it is possible to read it independently from Vol. 1, "The Virgin Papers." A romantic thriller and a kind of detective story-with a splash of fantasy.
